Hotel Transylvania

Rating: PG
Cast: Adam Sandler, Selena Gomez

Epic Rating: 6/10

Hotel Transylvania is just another children s summer flick with just enough spice to bring it to an above average level. You get the typical love story with "gross" comedy mixed in to make it exciting, all ending in a chase scene to make things right. Hotel Transylvania follows this, but it does it in such a different way sometimes you forget it.
Hotel Transylvania is a story about an over protective father, Dracula (Sandler), building a hotel to protect his daughter, along with all the other monsters of the world. You get to see classic Hollywood monsters, dubbed down of course for the younger audiences. Things take a turn for the worst when a human, feared by all monsters, finds his way into the hotel. But this accident could change Dracula's look on humans forever.
Genndy Tartakovsky's Hotel Transylvania is alright. You get your basic children's movie plot with enough comedy mixed in to make it enjoyable. So treat your kids to this movie soon, the monsters are Dying to meet you;).

Iron Man

Rating: PG-13
Cast: Robert Downy Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow

Epic Rating: 9/10

Iron Man is the start of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It sets the stage for all the other Marvel movies to come, and it does a pretty kick ass job of doing so. Robert Downy Jr. stars as billionaire weapons designer Tony Stark, or as you may know him as Iron Man.
The Plot for the majority of the movie is the Origin of the Iron Crime Fighter. Tony is kidnapped by a gang in Iraq and is forced to create a weapon or be killed. Tony then creates a new weapon, a robotic suit of Armor, and defeats the gang and makes it back to America. Little does he know, this new suit could grab the attention of a greedy manager in his own company.
Iron Man is a great movie. Unlike most super hero movies, this one doesn't  rely on explosions every scene. It manages to mix human drama and adventure into a great action movie. Iron Man is a must see.

The Amazing Spider Man

The Amazing Spider Man
Genre: Adventure
Rating: PG-13
Cast: Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone

Epic Rating: 8/10

Spider Man is back on the big screen in Marc Webb's reboot of the Spider Man film series. Here, we tell a brand new origin story for America's original Super Hero. We also see the entire cast and plot change.
The first half of the movie is basically a repeat of the original Spider Man Movie: Peter Parker is bullied in school, but a bite from a radioactive spider grants him super powers. But when his dear uncle is killed by Peters fault, he learns that with great power, comes great responsibility. From here, the movie takes on a whole new plot. We see a new villain, The Lizard, attack New York and battle Spidey, We see Peter having a new love interest, the beautiful and smart Gwen Stacy, and we see Peter become the masked crime fighter in a whole new way.
In my opinion, Andrew Garfield played a much better Spider Man than Toby McGuire. His wit and jokes makes it seem that Spidey literally leaps from the comic onto the big screen. I also thing the Lizard was a much better villain, and how Peters and the Lizards origin stories are wrapped together.
The Amazing Spider Man sees a new start for Spidey films. Yes its different, but I like this one better. I recommend seeing this film ASAP.

Prometheus

Prometheus
Genre: Sci-Fi
Rating: R
Cast: Naomi Price

Epic Rating: 7/10

Director Ridley Scott returns to the Alien universe with a prequel: Prometheus. While the famous chest-bursting creatures never appear in the film, theres more than enough other things to scare you.
Prometheus was intended to be a Prequel to the 1979 film Alien, but it could very well be it's own stand alone movie. It has some of the same Alien creatures, such as the "Space Jockey", but Prometheus introduces us to new, terrifying creatures.
The plot is simple enough to follow, But at the same time, it is much bigger than the film. A team discovers alien marking all over Earth, and the venture out into space, where they find a planet hosting strange ruins. Unbeknownst to the team, their presence has activated a deadly toxin, which will kill any and all life.
Prometheus was a good movie in my opinion. While basically retelling Alien with a twist, Ridley Scott manages to scare viewers time and time again. With a OK Cast and terrifying visual effects, I recommend seeing Prometheus very soon.
